Welcome to investinreits.com! This site has been designed to provide visitors with all the tools to learn about real estate investment trusts (REITs) and publicly traded real estate companies. InvestinREITs.com is brought to you by the National Association of Real Estate Investment TrustsĀ® (NAREIT). NAREIT is the trade association for REITs and publicly traded real estate companies.

For those of you just learning about REITs, we suggest you start your tour of investinreits.com in the Learn About REITs section. This section contains a guide to REIT investing, frequently asked questions and a glossary of REIT terms.

Once you've become more familiar with REITs, the 3 Reasons to Invest in REITs section outlines the key reasons REITs are attractive additions to investors' portfolios — their long-term performance, their dividends, and the diversification benefits they provide.

More than 95 percent of listed REITs in the U.S. are members of NAREIT, and we provide information on member companies in the Find a REIT section. There you will find a fully searchable directory of our companies, links to NAREIT-member Web sites and REITs Across America, our interactive map.

There are many different ways to invest in REITs, all listed in the section with the same title. Here you can learn about the three main types of REITs (publicly traded, public but non-exchange traded, and private), find REITs by stock exchange listing, view a list of REIT mutual funds, closed end funds and a list of REITs that offer dividend reinvestment programs (DRIPs).

Finally, we offer you ways to stay informed. You may read Real Estate Portfolio, NAREIT's bi-monthly magazine online or subscribe to daily and/or monthly statistical reports on the industry.

For even more detailed information on REITs, including comprehensive statistical information, we encourage you to visit our sister site, www.nareit.com.

We hope you find this site useful and informative. We welcome your comments, questions or suggestions at questions@nareit.com.

Thanks for visiting!
